Is input a part of county decision making?

Provided it is done well, public participation leads to better decisions, and in my opinion, the Houston County Board of Commissioners should view it as valuable to its mission. Public involvement is far more likely to improve the quality of decisions to be made than to undermine them, because citizens often have knowledge about local issues that could be crucial to the analysis of the decision. In addition, the intent of public input is to ensure the spirit of cooperation and trust between the constituents and the commissioners.
