Rochester Post Bulletin: More complaints filed in Houston County's frac sand debate

CALEDONIA — A second Houston County public official has been accused of ethical violations in the silica sand mining dispute that's divided rural communities in southeast Minnesota.

Monday's announcement sets the stage for a Sept. 29 planning commission hearing to discuss a proposed ban on all silica-related activities.

A local opposition group called Families Resisting Energy Extraction, or FREE, filed a six-pronged complaint Monday against Houston County Planning Commission Chairman Dan Griffin that alleges he failed to uphold the following standards:
